5 Tips To Help You Shop Smartly on Amazon
It’s that time of the year again. It’s the time of Bublé at full blast, feasting aplenty and of course, holiday shopping. With Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and finally Christmas coming up, we understand the need to be strategic and prepared. How do you pick up presents for yourself and all your friends and family without breaking the bank? To help you get started, we have compiled this handy list of advice to help you with shopping on Amazon, the one-stop shop for practically everything. Shop away!
1. Price Guarantee
Don’t forget to take advantage of their price guarantee. For all items sold and shipped by Amazon, if the price of the item drops within 7 days of delivery, you can contact Amazon to have the difference refunded to you. This is particularly important during gifting season when random discounts pop ip. Look out for the phrase “Ships from and sold by Amazon.com” on the listing to see if it’s applicable! If you somehow missed the 7 day deadline, don’t fret. Contact them anyway, and be nice; there is still a fair chance they are willing to refund you.
2. Warehouse Deals
Not everything needs to be brand new. With open-box and pre-owned items, you get perfectly functional products that let you save big bucks while being environmentally friendly. Go to Amazon’s Warehouse Deals section and find anything from computers to video games to audio systems. Don’t worry about the products too, as Amazon makes sure they are in great working conditions before putting them up for sale.
3. Student Discounts
One of the countless things everybody misses about being a student is the bounty of discounts they get. On Amazon, college students get Amazon Prime for free for 6 months, before being charged at USD49 a year (as opposed to USD99 normally). If you don’t already know, Amazon Prime lets you enjoy perks like unlimited free two-day shipping and access to a vast array of free TV shows, music, e-books and more. The only difference from regular subscribers of the service is that students don’t get to share their shipping benefits with anyone else. Oh, and you will need a valid college email to sign up too.
4. More deals at Amazon Gold Box and Amazon Coupons
When Black Friday comes around, remember to check out Amazon’s Black Friday Lightning Deals (actually, quite a number of deals are already up). If you can’t find what you’re looking for, worry not, because the Amazon Gold Box offers limited time deals year-round. Check it on a regular basis and you might just find what you’re looking for one day. Amazon Coupons is a good place to check out too, housing discounts on items ranging from beauty products to electronics.
5. Gift Wrap
Gift wrapping can be frustrating and time-consuming. Luckily, Amazon offers gift-wrapping services for a reasonable price which varies according to size and shape of the item you’re purchasing, even though this option is not available for all products. A standard gift wrap includes a gift wrap, box or bag for the item, a decorative ribbon and a printed card with your message on top of the package. Perfect for you lazy lads out there!
